Growing plants with toddlers

Today we planted our grass and flower seeds. After practicing on our plant sensory bin, growing plants with our toddlers was piece of cake, with a little bit of organization anything can be accomplished.
First we gathered our materials: pots, toilet paper tubes, markers, stickers, organic dirt, grass and flower seeds.

Toilet paper tubes make a great biodegradable material, and you can plant it directly on the ground after it starts growing. Who knew I had a green thumb?

Let the children be part of the process by assigning easy tasks. They can decorate the tubes or pots with stickers, markers, crayons, etc.

Then Grab some spoons and let your child pour some dirt into the pots. Add some seeds, and a bit of water. The smile of satisfaction when completing a task independently is priceless.

We are excited and anxious to see our plants grow!!!
